The stabbing, breaking speech in the verses of Polina Andrukovich “detects” the work of a poetic unconscious at its deep stage, the stage of primary verbal-rhythmic impulses, usually carefully hidden, not released outside the draft. Not a voice “with a crack”, but the cracks and faults, torn, broken into parts of the word, as if tormented by internal censorship, breaking through the bars of the normative language - a diagram, a mental map of a “quiet”, a bloodless revolution transforming these punctuation of speech, its stigma, its stigma and Ordals, to the innovative syntax. Polina Andrukovich (b. 1969) - poet, prose writer, artist. She graduated from VGIK.
