Evgeny Lvovich Schwartz (1896-1958) wrote his main tales on the eve and during the Great Patriotic War. He, like no other, sharply felt a moral threat and ferocious larvae of the fascist dictatorship and cult of the personality of Stalin. And in his works, he turns the harsh and terrible fairy tale into a fairy tale, through which the fabulous reality of the 30-40s of the twentieth century shines through.
