The collection presents five French poets of the “Catholic Renaissance” of the first half of the twentieth century: Paul Claudel, Francis Zhamm, Charles Pega, Marie Noel and Henrietta Sharason. Translations of poems are preceded by information about the life and work of their authors. Most of the poems are published in Russian for the first time. The collection opens with a description of the phenomenon of the “Catholic Renaissance” in the historical and cultural context. The collection is concluded by the chapter dedicated to the philosophy of knowledge and poetry of the Claudel Field.
