On the river (Vimmebukh)

"On the river" is the fifth book in the series "History in Pictures" from German artists Doro Göbel and Peter Knorra. Previously published books of the series - "outside the city" (2012) and "in the circus" (2012), "Once in the city" (2014), "neighbors" (2015).
Each book talks about one day from the life of the main characters (all of them are separately taken to the fourth side of the cover) This day is saturated with a variety of events, and the attentive reader is invited to trace all the plot lines of the heroes in order to put them in a whole picture.
The book "On the River" will talk about how passengers of the Swallow ship spent their day. Early in the morning they came to the pier of a small town, bought tickets and climbed aboard, where they were welcomed by the captain and the team. Then the ship sailed and swam downstream, making stopping along the path - on the farm, at the ferry crossing and near the open -air water park. There were no incidents: on the way, the screw broke down the “swallow” and it was necessary to call divers to fix it. Finally, in the evening, after all the adventures of the "Swallow" arrived at the destination - in the large seaport, and the passengers just managed to the beginning of the music festival.
"History in pictures" is a real dumb movie. Considering the book without words, children will learn to see and notice the details, to trace the logical connections between events, to independently make a story from the pictures. There are so many plot lines in the book that it is impossible to trace them all at a time. They are intertwined, intersect, occur simultaneously, as in a real movie - and as in real life!
