Irina Odoevtseva is a Russian poet, the beloved student of Nikolai Gumilyov, who left Russia in 1922. She lived a long life and returned to her homeland in 1987 - the last representative of the distant stroke century. She happened to see her books published in the USSR-in the late 1980s, Odoevtseva’s memoirs came out colossal circulations. The heroes of these memoirs are Nikolai Gumilyov, Georgy Ivanov, Osip Mandelstam, Zinaida Gippius, Dmitry Merezhkovsky, Anna Akhmatova, Ivan Bunin and many others. In exile, Irina Odoevtseva continued to write poetry, and also turned to artistic prose and gained fame as the author of novels and stories.
