Behind the garden of the Chinese emperor, in the forest, there was a small gray nightingale. He sang so wonderful that poems were composed of him and wrote books. The emperor himself failed to restrain his tears, listening to his singing - this was the best reward to the singer! But once, an artificial nightingale, strewn with precious stones, was taken to the palace, and a real bird became uninteresting to people.
Once the emperor is seriously ill. He lay completely alone in his luxurious bedroom, tormented by memories. Ah, how there was not enough music that would drown out the whisper of the past! But the mechanical nightingale was silent, because there was no one to start it. And suddenly outside the window there was a wonderful singing
The book is illustrated by the atmospheric drawings of Oleg Pakhomov.
