Selma Lagerlöf (1858–1940) - Swedish writer and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature
(1909) One of her most famous books - “Niels Holgersson’s wonderful journey through Sweden” was originally conceived as a textbook on the geography of Sweden. The book was translated into many languages, and in 1940, Soviet writers Zoya Zadunayskaya and Alexander Lyubarskaya retold this work, calling it Niels"s wonderful journey
with wild geese. This story about the boy, who traveled with a flock of geese, was built on legends and folk
fairy tales.
The book uses verses translated by S. Marshak.
Illustrations of outstanding domestic artists E. Bulatov and O. Vasilieva.
