The new book of the famous Moscow poet Gennady Ivanov, which he prepared for his 70th anniversary, is published in the year of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The collection is opened by poems related precisely with this epoch -making event in the history of the country.
As in previous books, the central place is occupied by the image of a poet, looking for a way out of a modern nihilistic attitude to life and the country, which prevails now in society. The author’s lyrics can be called philosophical, but this is primarily a desire to gain a genuine meaning and genuine faith. The poetry of Gennady Ivanov is multifaceted and peculiar in mood: it is accessible and strict seriousness, and a good -natured smile, and an unexpected emotional take -off.
