Jules Verne (1828–1905) - French writer, ancestor of the science fiction genre, classic of adventure literature. His novels are still published all over the world, in terms of translation frequency, inferior to the works of Agatha Christie. The Mysterious Island is the third book after the novels “Children of Captain Grant” and “Twenty thousand Lie underwater”, where the mysterious Captain Nemo appears. Five brave men decide to escape from the captivity of southerners during the civil war in the United States in a balloon. The ball carries a hurricane to the southern hemisphere, travelers find themselves on a uninhabited island. Trying to survive, they take up the job and thanks to the knowledge of engineer Syres Smith, they establish natural economy. Not only nature favors them, but also the mysterious patron that they will get to know only the last disaster.
