The book of priest P. N. Vozdvizhensky “My First Holy History” first published in 1899 and withstood several reprints in pre -revolutionary Russia, at that time was recognized as the best retelling of the Bible for children. The preface to the first publication says that the book simply and entertaining tells about all the most important events of the Old and the tests so that the children can understand what has been written without needing the explanations of adults. The presentation is focused on children from 5 to 9 years old, the narrative is good, fabulous-epic, fascinating, the moralizing is soft and pedagogical-overeating. This book will serve as a spiritual compass that will help the child not get lost in the complex labyrinths of life.
