Robertson Davis is the largest Canadian writer, master of plot intricacies and riddles, one of the best storytellers of English -speaking literature. His “Deptord"s trilogy” (“Fifth Character”, “Manticore”, “World of Miracles”) was considered the beginning of the “Canadian breakthrough” in world literature. He fell into the short list of the Boker (with the novel “What is laid down” from the Kornishchi Trilogy), was awarded the main Canadian literary award-the Governor-General, at the end of his life, almost received the Nobel Prize, but even forever remaining Among the candidates, he won the status of a world classic.
