Zbignnev Herbert (1924–1998) - an outstanding Polish poet, author of nine books of poems, essay books, several plays. Laureate of many foreign and international awards. Herbert is an intellectual poet who nevertheless gained popularity among a wide reader. Herbert’s selected poems were published in 16 languages in Europe and the USA, in many languages his poetic books “Mr. Kogito” and “report from the besieged city” were published. At one of the University of the United States, MR Cogito magazine was published.
