Joseph Redyard Kipling (1865 - 1936) - English writer, poet and novelist, Nobel laureate in literature (1907)
Kipling was born in Bombay, where his father taught at the School of Arts. From the age of six, the future writer lived and studied in England. He returned to India only in 1881, then his first book was published - the collection “School Poems”. Kipling took up journalism, wrote stories for the local press. Real fame was brought to him by the already published cycle of stories “The Books of the Jungle” and the novel “Kim.”
The book includes stories from the “Book of the Jungle”. The little boy Mowgli was in the jungle. Parents threw him, fleeing the tiger Sherkhan. Contrary to the circumstances, the “human cub” survived and came to raising the wolves into the family, Panther Bagira and the Bear Balu became his defenders and friends. Thus began the adventures of Mowgli in the jungle
