Valery Levitina (Miraitskaya) was born in Simferopol, where her childhood and youth passed. She graduated from the medical institute, worked as a doctor, then moved to Kharkov, defended her thesis and worked for 14 years in a military hospital.
After seven and a half years of refusal, in 1987 Levitina finally received the right to leave and has been living in the USA since then in Chicago.
Valeria began to write poetry at school, but then fell silent for many years. Only having mastered the English language well, she appreciated her native Russian in a new way and returned to poem about 20 years ago. In 2012, her first book was published - "The Bracular Sun of Bad Fighting". Two years later, the second appeared - "per hundred on the contrary", and then a "torn cloud". "Milestones" are the fourth book by V. Levitina
