N.S. Gumilyov (1886-1921), a poet and traveler, visited Africa several times in Abyssinia. The last journey in 1913 was a real scientific expedition organized by the Academy of Sciences. The action of the poem "Mick" takes place just in Abyssinia from the reign of Emperor Menelik II. In this wonderful fairy tale, two boys - a black slaughterhouse of Mick and the son of the French ambassador Louis - run away from the city to the jungle. Incredible adventures await them. As in ordinary human life, courage is faced with insidiousness, and friendship and fidelity are tested for strength.
The poem "Mick" was first printed in 1913, published a separate book after 4 years. And since then a separate book has not been reprinted
