This collection includes two works representing the different facets of Christopher Isherwood, a thin, lyrical psychologist and sarcastic satirist.
“Lonely man” - a piercing story of one day of a middle -aged Englishman, professor of an American University. Most recently, he survived an irreplaceable loss, but from his last strength is trying to pretend that everything is in order, and tries to live on. However, every day deeper and deeper immerses him in a bitter loneliness in the crowd.
The violet of the foretother, on the contrary, is the hilarious Odyssey of the young writer in the world of the Golden Age of the Cinema of the 1930s, with his “brilliance and poverty” of subcover intrigues and professional ambitions, ridiculous scenarios, real and fictional machinations of competitors and everyone Otherwise, which usually eludes the light of sofitis
