The Little Farmer is the fifth book of the famous autobiographical epic of the American writer Laura Ingles Wilder. Reading this book, it is impossible not to compare the lifestyle of children of the late XIX and early XXI centuries.
The hardworking, honest and inquisitive Almanzo is a born farmer, although he is not yet 10 years old. He knows how to do almost everything that adults do: harness the bulls and carry logs on them, milk a cow, whip oil, cut the sheep, cut out of the ice of the cube and build a glacier from them, plant and save crops from frosts - you can’t list everything. The main thing is that these adults, sometimes tiring and physically difficult duties do not gravitate him. Almanzo performs them for granted and even with pleasure, and even manages to study at school
