writer and teacher Colin Tile (1920-2006) was born in a provincial town in South Australia. He is the author of more than a hundred books about South Australia, who, during his lifetime, became a classic of children"s literature. Colin Tile is signed by readers of the whole world (including Russia) based on the book "Stormik and Mr. Persival" about the friendship of a boy and pelican. Even the monument, erected in his hometown of the writer, depicts him along with the famous hero - Pelican Persian. In 1977, Colin Tile became the gentleman of the Order of Australia for merits in the field of literature and education. The story "Lighthouse of the Hammer Cape" (1976) was first translated into Russian.
