The Leningrad Reader was one of Oleg Yuryev’s favorite literary projects. He began to ponder her in the late 1990s, and the last essay-about the poem by Sergei Stratanovsky Suvorov-was written by him at the end of 2017. During this time, poems and texts accompanying them gradually appeared on the website “New Camera of Storage”. Almost twenty years of crystallization of the idea: to create an image of the poetry of St. Petersburg that arose when it was called Leningrad, that is, from 1924 to 1991. Elena Schwartz, Valery Shubinsky and the author of these lines responded to the invitation of Oleg Yuryev to take part to take part. Thinking about the possible book edition of the Axtrtion, Oleg Yuryev wrote in 2008 the chief editor of the publishing house Ivan Lumbach Irina Kravtsova: “We are talking about the obvious and hidden history of Leningrad/Petersburg poetry and wider: culture, we are talking about creating a certain context of its understanding, speech, speech Ultimately, we will take with us “from Leningrad to St. Petersburg” from the Soviet era. The question is far from resolved, and the future (..) The preparation would require some time to have a lot of time, it would not have been completed - five or six poets remained. ”
