The ancestors of the two close peoples-Komi-Zaryan (often simply called Komi) and Komi-Permyakov from time immemorial lived on the banks of the Kama, Perechegda and Pechora rivers, where the Komi Republic and the Perm Territory are now located. They caught fish and hunted in thick spruce forests. The forest plays a big role in the tales of these peoples. This is always a mysterious place where you can meet a witch of yoma, a goblin Chud, a forest damn pile, the hero of Pereyu and the enchanted black fox, who again came to life under the brush of the artist Pavel Klementyev
