Many centuries ago in the country of noisy pines and fir trees, in the edge of forest lakes and thoroughbred rivers, people made their traditions and fairy tales. These Karelian-Finnish folk songs (runes) were collected and processed by the Finnish linguist and doctor Elias Lennrot (1802-1884) The name "Kalevala", given by the poem by Lennrot, is the epic name of the country in which the heroes-gods loved by all the heroes live and make their exploits: the old, wise Voriminen, the skilled blacksmith Ilmarinen and a fearless hunter, the cheerful Lemminkainen. “Kalevala” is the pride of Finland, its national treasure, recognized by a unique folk epic that has no analogues in world literature.
