The fifth poetic book of I. Semenenko-Basin (born in 1966 in Moscow) represents the reader for the youth of the eighties and fragments of the diary of 1988-1992. In poems of criticism, the maturity of a poetic form, successful metaphors, a sense of joy from the beauty of life are noted. Together with diary entries, verses acquire the nature of the certificate, a document of the era. Turning in the final article to the concept of generation of 1989, the author offers his own vision of the generational cycle in Russian culture of the late XX century
