The world -famous Italian children"s writer Gianni Rodari was only 19 years old, when he began working with children - he became an elementary school teacher. In his own words, in the process of teaching, he was often mistaken, and the children, objecting to him, helped to correct these mistakes. Perhaps it was work with children that helped the young man preserve children"s openness, spontaneity and desire for justice in his soul.
After 12 years, Gianni Rodari published his first collection for children - “The Book of Funny Poems”, and then the fairy tale “The Adventures of Chipollino”, which brought him world fame.
The good, funny and touching works of the writer were not only in love with children, but were also awarded a high reward from adults. Gianni Rodari was awarded the Hansa Andersen Prize as an author, whose works made an important contribution to children"s world literature (1970)
