In front of a variegated book shelf .... Poems about books, reading and libraries

The anthology includes 237 poetic works of 118 Russian -speaking authors of the XVIII - the first third of the 20th century, dedicated to various aspects of book culture, reading problems and library practices. Among these poems, you will find both textbooks familiar from the school curriculum in literature, and very little -known. A number of texts are published for the first time after 1917. Some were published only once in the pre -revolutionary periodicals, and then were undeservedly forgotten. It was time to return them to the interested reader.
The name of the collection was the line from the poem by Sasha Black "Night Lancers".
Anthology is illustrated by reproductions of paintings by Russian artists of the 18th - early XX centuries.
