The creative fate of the American poetess Emily Dikinson, born in the small town of Amherst, where she almost completely lived until her death in voluntary recluse, is amazing. During the life of Dikinson, only seven of her poems were published anonymously, and the first small collection was published posthumously. Meanwhile, the richest poetic heritage of Dikinson is almost two thousand poems. Nature, love, the sacrament of life and death are the main topics of its work, appreciated only at the beginning of the twentieth century, when Dikinson was recognized as one of the largest American poets. Dikinson’s poetry is distinguished by a special, very personal intonation, non -traditional metric and rhyme, tense rhythm, laconicism, steepness, often making a verse difficult for understanding, as well as the wealth and whims of associations, the extraordinary freshness of perception, the directness of feeling and vision
