Before you is a unique book included in the Golden Fund of the printing culture of Russia, the very first book of poems by one of the largest poets of the 20th century Vladimir Mayakovsky, published by 300 copies in 1913.
The drawing on the cover belongs to the poet himself, who depicted his black tie, which he then often wore.
The collection opens a portrait of Vladimir Mayakovsky in a wide -brimmed hat, perhaps the earliest image of a young poet. This is Lev Shekhtel lithography, a very accurate and emotionally true image of Mayakovsky that time.
The preparation of the collection took about two weeks, and at the end of May 1913 it was printed in Little Lithography at the Nikolsky Gate - Lithography of Mukharsky
