Rossetti"s sonnets are marked by vivid illustrative effects and atmosphere of luxurious beauty. Since almost all the sonnets echoes Rossetti"s paintings, and very many are generally inseparable from their “picturesque doubles”, this pairing was based on the design of the design of this publication.
