The book is an adaptation of the fascinating novel by the famous Anglo-American children"s writer Francis Bernett “The Adventures of the Little Lord”. This is an amazing story about a little boy named Cedric, who by the will of fate became the only heir to the rich English lord. Having lived with his mother in America the first seven years of his life, he moved to his grandfather and ended up in the world of a stiff English aristocracy. With his innocence, sound prudence and sincere kindness, Cedric managed to warm the heart of a strict grandfather and make his life better. This manual will help students of high school prepare for the main state exam in English. The text of the manual is adapted for educational purposes to the level of Elementary. Each chapter is accompanied by commentary, translating difficult words and expressions, as well as tasks taking into account the requirements of the OGE. They are aimed not only at testing the understanding of the text, but also at the development of vocabulary, grammar, as well as the development of reading skills, oral speech and writing. Exercises allow you to form and develop communicative competencies that are so necessary for the successful passing of the final exam in grade 9. At the end of the manual, answers to all tasks are placed, the English-Russian dictionary, as well as the final test in the OGE format with keys.
