Russian writer Fedor Nikolaevich Glinka left behind a very large and diverse heritage. The central place in it is occupied by works dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812: memoirs and diary prose, articles on private issues and poems. Well -known to specialists, they have never been gathered together, although such a reading allows them to see a lot of new and instructive in them. F.N. Glinka was (simultaneously with N.I. Greek) the first Russian writer to have the term Patriotic War himself, which significantly increases its significance in the history of Russian culture.
