The famous ballad of Robert Lewis Stevenson translated by Samuel Marshak with illustrations by Igor Oleinikov. The ballad tells about the extermination by the king of Scotland, a small people who had previously inhabited these lands, - Stevenson calls them pictes. The last two representatives of this people, father and son, were taken to the king so that they open the secret to making a sweet hoppy drink from heather, for this the king promises to save their life.
