The name of the storytellers of the brothers Grimm is known to children and adults all over the world. However, Jacob and Wilhelm were not only writers, but also famous scientists. They made a huge contribution to the development of German literature and culture as a whole: they gave a systemic description of German grammar, began to compile the first dictionary of the German language (work on it lasted 120 years), collected many folk tales and legends.

The Grimm brothers were born in the city of Hanau, in the family of a lawyer. Jacob Grimm was born in 1785, and Wilhelm - a year later, they had six younger brothers and sister. To provide children with everything necessary, the father of the family had to work for wear, not knowing the rest. He passed away early: the body lost his inflammation of the lungs. The mother of the boys saw perfectly how curious and diligent her older sons were inquisitive and diligent, and therefore, despite financial difficulties, sent them to study in the Lyceum. The brothers went through a full course for 4 years (twice as fast as it) and entered the legal branch of Marburg University.
