"I was lucky when I was born. This happened a very long time - in 1933. But it turned out that Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky, Samuel Yakovlevich Marshak and Boris Vladimirovich Zakhoder managed to be born even earlier. Therefore, in childhood, I had many wonderful books with kind, smart and funny verses. I remembered these verses by heart, played with them, told them to adults and peers and tried to compose my own. I tried, tried, tried and got used to it. ” Thus begins his little autobiography Vadim Alexandrovich Levin. We all learned and loved his poems when, at the end of the sixties, his book “Stupid Horse” appeared in Novosibirsk with marvelous illustrations of Spartak Kalachev. The book was unexpected - transfers, imitations, translations from English, but in fact - the most original poems, only written in a new genre. In the same years, these verses were published on the famous 16th page of the "Literary newspaper" with the following note: "Translations from English are so new that most of them the British had not yet managed to compose in their own language. And there were songs - music by Levin was written by S. Nikitin, V. Berkovsky. G. Gladkov. And there were cartoons with his poems - "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice in the Zlavizka". And there were numerous performances at which Vadim Alexandrovich always infected listeners with talent and optimism. To admit to whom, if not Vadim Levin, to know the baby audience - after all, by profession he is a child psychologist and, no matter how much these words, a methodologist -innovator, who introduces both children and adults to art and, above all, to poetry, sounds. The book was published with the support of the Avi Hai Foundation.
