The book of fairy tales Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin with illustrations of the classic of Soviet book graphics by Vladimir Alekseevich Milashevsky in the Soviet Union only once, in 1949, by a circulation of only 10 thousand copies. This publication has long become a bibliographic rarity, and the illustrations of the wonderful artist Vladimir Milashevsky became a significant milestone in the domestic book publishing.
70 years after the creation of illustrations and their first publication, the book is released in the form that was originally conceived by the artist. It included thirty -four original drawings of Vladimir Milashevsky, provided by the All -Russian Museum of A.S. Pushkin. Of these, fifteen works were not included in the collection of "Tales" (1949) and are published for the first time.
The collection includes the five most famous and beloved tales of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - "The Tale of King Saltan ...", "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Herries", "The Tale of the Golden Cockerel", "Tale of Fisherman and Fish" And the "Tale of the Pope and the employee of his Balde."

On the illustrator:
Vladimir Alekseevich Milashevsky (1893-1976)-graphic artist, illustrator, scenographer, participant and ideologist of the art group "13" (1929-1931) He was engaged in the new art workshop (1915-1916) with M.V. Dobuzhinsky, E. E. Lansere, A. E. Yakovleva.
Vladimir Alekseevich illustrated dozens of books, including the works of Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Blok, Ershov, Hoffmann, Flauber, Paustovsky.
participated in many international exhibitions, as well as exhibitions of Russian art abroad in the USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands.
Vladimir Milashevsky - one of the largest masters of the domestic and book graphics of the first half of the twentieth century. His works can be seen in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Plane named after A. S. Pushkin
