A fairy tale fairy tale is different. There are fairy tales that give almost nothing to the mind or the heart and contain only a fantastic, devoid of any idea to the plot. However, there are others - those that awaken good feelings in young readers, present a number of valuable poetic paintings, lead to thoughts, make the children"s heart respond to joy and suffering experienced by heroes and lead to good, sow aversion to evil. Among the works of this last kind are the fairy tales of the Finnish writer Tsakarias Topelius, who is one of the most striking continuers of the traditions of H.K. Andersen in Scandinavia. It is considered the largest storyteller not only of his homeland, but also by Sweden, since he wrote in the Swedish language. And the glory of his fairy tales that spread to other countries made them popular and loved among children and adults of different peoples. The small masterpieces of Topelius are full of life, sparkled with sunlight and optimism, they are remarkably depicted by the gloomy nature of the North. In fairy tales, religious topics are often addressed, in a delicate and affordable form, the triumph of true faith, love and justice is affirmed.
