The ancient Greek philosopher Aesop is considered one of the first masters of the ancient literary genre, its laconic, wise, witty fables, the plots of which were used by famous fabulists, were translated into many languages of the world and repeatedly retold. Possessing figurative thinking and sharp language, the ancient writer created the art world in which animals, birds and even plants act as heroes, and morality is presented through allegory.
Selected fables, as well as the legendary “Biography of Aesop”, are included in the publication, translated by the outstanding philologist M.L. Gasparova
