This book is a collection of cognitive and entertaining stories about traditional toys, common mainly in Europe and America, as well as in Russia, it introduces readers to the history of their occurrence, traditions and customs associated with them from ancient times to the last third of the 20th century. Some of the materials are devoted to original Russian toys. Articles are supplemented by fragments of poems, stories and fairy tales devoted to toys.
Authors of the book - writer SP. Makeev and collector T.A. Makeev, collected a significant collection of toys of the 19th - early XX centuries, which serve as documentary illustrations of the publication.
