The book includes at once two parts of the fascinating adventures of the whole good Dr. Aibolit and his faithful friends from childhood: ducks of Kiki, Avva dogs, pigs of dick-oh, parrot and owls of boom. In the first part, Dr. Aibolit goes to Africa, where he and his friends have to meet with the evil robber Barmaley, cure monkeys, teach animals of mutual assistance and gain new friends. In the second part, Aibolit and his friends come to the aid of a boy named Penta, saving him from captivity of pirates and going in search of his father.
The prose story “Doctor Aibolit” was first published in 1936, and the good doctor was immediately loved by children and their parents for their careful attitude and love for children, animals, as well as for their willingness to always come to their aid, in spite of either for what.
