Viktor Yuzefovich Dragunsky (1913-1972) - a Soviet writer, whose books have become a classic of children"s literature, are constantly reprinted and filmed and translated into many languages of the world.
Viktor Dragunsky from childhood dreamed of performing on stage. In 1931, the future writer saw an announcement of the recruitment of students in the literary and theatrical workshop. I passed the selection - and in the evenings, after work, I began to attend classes and write stories. After listening to them, the head of the workshop advised him to quit this lesson: "The artist will definitely work out of you, and the writer is not!" Dragunsky really became an artist: he worked at the Transport Theater, then moved to the satire theater.
When the Great Patriotic War began, he did not get to the front due to health reasons, he served in the militia. He was awarded the Medal "For the Defense of Moscow". After the war, Victor was invited to work at the film actor theater.
In 1958, Dragunsky quit the theater: he decided to seriously engage in literary activity. It was then that the first stories were written from the famous Cycle "Deniskin Stories". The prototype of Deniska Kableov was the son of the writer, and the image of Mishka ivory is “sketched” with Misha Slonim, with whom Denis Dragunsky was friends.
Stories about the restless, curious and smart Denisk and his friends immediately liked both children and adults. The heroes of the "Deniskin stories" - ordinary Moscow preschoolers and younger students - go to the cinema and attractions, play in the yard, suggest each other in the lessons, fantasize and rummage. Good humor, charming and living characters, recognizable situations will probably delight little readers, and adults will allow adults to return to childhood when the world was full of riddles, surprises and hopes that necessarily came true.
In total, Viktor Dragunsky wrote about 70 stories about Denisk, 22 of them were included in this collection. All texts are given without abbreviations
