Once, a boat with a suspicious fat gentleman named Jones arrives at the tiny Scottish island of Skua, where there is not even a policeman and a doctor. He came to the mysterious bachelor Mr. Smith, who lives on a hill in complete solitude, except for the illiterate maid of Annie and her admonent daughter - orphan orphans. Mr. Smith wears dark glasses in any weather, regularly catches Omarov, but does not eat them, and forbids the loss that the islanders for some reason called the "daughter of the sorceress", go to school and communicate with other children.
On the same boat as Mr. Jones, the family of brother and sisters Tim and Jeni arrives. Fascinated by geology, Tim finds a stone on the beach, which seems to him valuable. Adults assure him that this is a glass, but intuition whips him the opposite. And it is necessary to happen to this that at about the same time this stone disappears from his collection of minerals, who lost his consciousness, the pope is taken by an ambulance on the large land, and Mr. Smith suddenly informs Annie about his intention to leave the island.
