Culture and rest park

The Moscow Children"s Book of the 1920-1930s was generally inferior to Leningrad in the degree of innovation, in the number of indisputable masterpieces, but it was more diverse in stylistic terms. With the children"s editors of the capital Stateizdat, wonderful graphs of various directions collaborated: experienced animalists and young caricaturists, students of V.A. Favorsky and constructivists, members of the Society of Manufacturers and the group “13”. Among the debutants who are trying their forces in the design of children"s publications were graduates of the picturesque faculty of the Higher Art and Technical Institute Valery Sergeyevich Alfeevsky (1906-1989) and Tatyana Alekseevna Lebedeva (Mavrina, 1900-1996).
“The book is of particular value, because with all the conventions of the plastic language, not only household realities, characteristic types, but also the atmosphere of the beginning of the 1930s are very accurately captured in it. Drawings cause lines O.E. Mandelstama: “There is a light-speaking / with scallops of rest, culture and water on the Moscow River”.
