Boris Almazov gathered these tales from all Cossack lands from the Dnieper to the Amur, processed and retold, vividly conveying the colorful Cossack speech. The book includes household and fairy tales, fairy tales of amphys, historical jokes and fairy tales. The publication is accompanied by an explanatory dictionary and the dictionary of Cossack words and expressions. Funny and instructive fairy tales were illustrated by artists Mikhail Gavrilov and Anatoly Gusarov
