El (Lazarus) Lisitsky was born in the village of Pochinok of the Smolensk province. By teaching in Vhutemas and Vhuthein, he completed a number of projects in the spirit of Suprematism, including sketches for the cult opera of Matyushin and twisted "victory over the sun". Made a noticeable contribution to the art of photomontage, poster, design of furniture and exhibitions, design of theatrical productions.
