Ernest Evan Thompson - the famous animal writer, an excellent artist, scientist -naturalist - was born in the UK in 1860. When the boy was 6 years old, his family moved to Canada. His father, a descendant of an old noble family, was harsh and even cruel. Fleeing from domestic violence, the boy often went into the forest, where he spent all days: he watched animals and birds, painted them, composed stories about them.
When the Ernest has grown a little, he changed his second name Evan, and now the young man was called Ernest Seton -Tompson (or rather, Thompson Siton) In 1879, the future writer graduated from the Torontsky College of Arts. When the young man was 23 years old, his first story was published - "Luvoy Board"s Life". The writer was not yet forty years old when he became known in the USA and Canada: his collection "Wild Animals, as I know them" brought him a well -deserved recognition.
During his long life (he lived for 86 years), Ernest Seton-Tompson spent a lot of time in nature, often traveled, wrote more than 40 books, he illustrated many of them with remarkable drawings. According to his books, anime series and feature films were shot (including the Soviet film "Domino" about the black-brown lice), and in 1992, the Chink cartoon was released in Russia (you will find a story about this brave and restless dog in this book)
The collection includes works created by the writer at different times. On the pages of the book, the young reader will get acquainted with the brave and self -confident sparrow of Randy, with a cowardly, but cute yabeda Bear Johnny, with a cruel, but grateful Vinnipeg wolf and other animals and birds
