The collection continues a series of books of a literary critic, writer, children"s poet Mikhail Davidovich Yasnov (born 1946), dedicated to the poetry of France and its Russian interpretations. The book tells about the history of poetry for children and its translations into Russian, as well as about this poetry as a phenomenon of culture. The book includes samples of poetic folklore (counters, nursery rhymes, riddles, children"s songs, Breton ballads), works of forgotten poets of the 19th century. and significant texts in the twentieth century. representatives of the children"s book subculture. The works of Viktor Hugo, Alexis Noel, Louis Ratisbonne, Maurice Karem, Madeleine Leo, Pierre Koran, Karl Norak, Jacques of Perer, Claude Rua, Liz Mathieu, and others are included. Poems precede the biographical data of the authors and information about their work. A significant part of the translations is published for the first time. The publication is addressed to fans of the translation talent of M.D. Yasnov, as well as all connoisseurs of French poetry and poetry for children
