The beginning of the twentieth century became the era of the origin of that poetry for children that we know and love. The second release of the series "Book of Books" - "Children"s Island" (according to the same book by Sasha Black) - unites the work of three poets of the first half of the twentieth century: Maria Moravskaya, Sasha Black and Vera Inber. Of course, nearby, Korney Chukovsky lived in parallel with them, but his first fairy tale, now the world-famous “crocodile”, was written and published when the books of poetry for the children of Sasha Black ("Tuk-Tuk", 1913) and Maria have already appeared Moravian ("Orange Crings", 1914) In the tenths, the first children"s poems by Vera Inber were also written.
And although in Soviet Russia the name of Moravskaya was deleted from the history of literature, Sasha Black, whose main books have been published during his emigration, rarely and very selectively, and Vera Inber had to make titanic efforts so as not to be repressed, their living Talented voices sounded and conquered young readers. It was a new aesthetics, and it was precisely on it that contrary to official ideology, subsequent generations of children"s poets were based.
One of the purpose of the series "Book of Books" is the spiritual discovery of the world of children"s poetry of the past, an attempt to make up for historical gaps in the modern reader’s consciousness and return the texts in the field of view and in the circle of interests of young readers, parents, teachers.
