Nikolai Zabolotsky (1903-1958) began his journey into literature with a book for children "good boots". He composed children"s poems in the 1930s for the famous magazines "Hedgehog" and "Chizh", published edited by Samuel Marshak. However, the poems addressed to young readers have not been reprinted for several decades.
The book contains the best examples of children"s poetry of the outstanding Russian lyrics of the 20th century. The explanation of some incomprehensible words and disappearance of realities is at the end of the afterword written by a well -known specialist in the life and work of the poet.
