Poetry, created in Scotland in the National Gales language, was not previously translated into Russian. In order to compile the Anthology of the Gaelian poetry of the highlanders now proposed by the Russian reader, the translators had to figure out this completely unknown literature and only then proceed to the translation. The result was a book of poems created by 29 poets in the dialect of Ossian. Having survived the stormy flowering in the XVIII century, in the XIX century the literary Gel tradition continued in Canada, where Gale-emigrants were supplanted. In the twentieth century, this poetry returned to his homeland, and to this day the highlanders" literature does not die. The book includes translations of almost all the "main" works created by Scotland poets in their native Gel in the last centuries
