Lidia Alekseevna Charskaya (the real name of Voronova), writer, poetess, was born in 1875 in Tsarskoye Selo, in the family of a military engineer. After some time, Lida"s mother died, and her father married a second time. The girl did not work out with the stepmother (she later described this life situation many times in her books).
In 1886, Lidu was given to the Pavlovsk Institute of Noble Maidens in St. Petersburg. She graduated from the Institute with the medal in 1893. When Lida was eighteen years old, she married officer B. Chermilov. She had a son. But the husband soon left them and left for a new place of service. Lydia graduated from dramatic courses at the Imperial Theater School in St. Petersburg and entered the St. Petersburg Alexandrian Imperial Theater, where she performed secondary roles. There was not enough money for life, and she decided to engage in writing. Lydia published in a children"s journal under the pseudonym L. Charskaya Tale "Notes of a Little Gymnasium student", where she described her school life. The book was successful, and L. Charskaya became an idol of teenagers. Her glory was strengthened by the novels of the Princess Javaha (1903), "Second Nina" (1909), "Dzhavakhovsky Nest" (1912) L. Charskaya wrote a lot about abandoned, lost or abducted children - "Siberochka" (1908), "Click" (1912), about the life of pupils of closed institutions -institutes "(1902)," White Pelerinka "(1906)," For what?" (1909), "For the whole life" (1911), "The goal was achieved" (1911), "Youth of the Voronskaya Lida" (1912), "Gymnasium students", "Notes of the orphan", "Shelter", "Fairy Tale" and others) . In total, L. Charskaya has written about 80 works.
After the 1917 revolution, the books of L. Charskoy were removed from the libraries, as "Boulevard, philistine, went and administrative." In 1937, she died in poverty.
