Roman Hei He “Black Flame” (2006) is a wonderful example of Chinese animalist prose.
This book is about the adventures and unusual fate of the brave Tibetan mastiff, nicknamed the Black Flame, which crossed the whole of China, demonstrating courage, will to life and devotion to the owner. The novel was translated into English, Arabic, Vietnamese, Korean, German and French.
