In Russia, they have always been interested in the culture of Japan. At the end of the 19th century, several domestic writers began the translations of folk tales at the end of the 19th century. They, by their own admission, chose the most suitable - understandable - Russian fairy tales. For the first time, transfers, many of which remain exemplary and today, are collected under the same cover.
The book was decorated with Kobayashi Eitaku (1843–1890), specially created for the GasEgawa Takedziro publishing project (1853–1938)-traditional Tirimen-Bon books in the New World
