Best Japanese fairy tales. In the first Russian translations

Nowhere is the psychology of the people so vividly and clearly, as in fairy tales. Acquaintance with Japanese folklore reveals to us the true nature of the traditions of the country of the rising sun.
In Russia, they have always been interested in the culture of Japan. At the end of the 19th century, several domestic writers began the translations of folk tales at the end of the 19th century. They, by their own admission, chose the most suitable - understandable - Russian fairy tales. For the first time, transfers, many of which remain exemplary and today, are collected under the same cover.
